CALL FOR APPLICATION

to host the 8th Convention of the Central and East European International Studies Association

The Central and East European International Studies Association (CEEISA) seeks applications for organizing its Eighth Convention, to be held in late spring or early fall of 2010.

There is no special form on which an application can be submitted – letters stating interest to apply for hosting our next convention will suffice. However, applicants should bear in mind the following conditions for a successful bid.

Thus, a potential host institution should be in a city or town with good international travel connections in which there is a committed and well-connected local institution. Information about suitable location, local hotels, receptions and sponsorship, high profile local speakers, touristic possibilities are to be part of application. We are particularly interested to know of the extent to which the local organizers think they will be able to raise support funding for younger scholars and those from countries with a lesser income.

As a matter of principle, the individuals who act as local organizers of the conference must be members of the CEEISA.

Applications from areas where the CEEISA has not yet had conferences are encouraged.
