ABOUT CEEISAThe Central and East European International Studies Association (CEEISA) was founded in February 1996 by the members of the International Affairs Network and by the Department of International Relations at St. Petersburg State University. The CEEISA has grown into a major regional organisation of scholars and practitioners in international relations. The CEEISA is an individual-based open membership professional organization. Its members come from more than 20 countries. The membership is organized into self-organizing sections according to disciplinary interest. The official journal of the CEEISA is the Journal of International Relations and Development, which is published in partnership with the Palgrave Macmillan. The JIRD, of which history goes back into 1986, has grown into a leading academic journal in the region, which increasingly attracts readers well beyond Central and Eastern Europe. Members of the CEEISA receive a free annual subscription to the Journal. At the CEEISA Annual Conference in Tartu in June 2006, Zlatko Sabic from the University of Ljubljana, Slovenia, was elected as a new President for a three-year term, and Petra Cibulkova from the University of Economics in Prague, Czech Republic, serves as the Secretary-General of the Association. The CEEISA is headquartered in Prague, Czech Republic. The CEEISA is a member of the World International Studies Committee (WISC). |
